Calvary Youth Nov 29 2011
Hi again!
I AM SO EXCITED!! The first thing I am excited about is it is finally December! I love love love the holidays and can’t wait for lots of snow and skiing! The other things I am excited about are the youth events for December. I had a wonderful conversation with a few youth and have decided to try some new things for the Sr. High 9th-12th graders. So mark your calendars!
Sr. High 9th-12th graders.
I have decided to start up some consistent weekly and monthly events for you so you can kind of fit them into your schedule better. So….. Every Monday we are going to be having Mocha Mondays for the 9th-12th graders. We will meet at 5:30 every Monday at the Nokomis Caribou Coffee for an hour to have some warm beverages and good conversations about whatever comes up. We are also going to be starting Servant Saturday. The first Saturday of every month we are going to take a few hours out of the day to do some servant work in the Alexandria Area. This is a great opportunity to have fun, do good and feel good, and get volunteer hours for scholarships. As always bring your friends! So here is the schedule:
December 3rd: Servant Saturday. Meet at Calvary at 2 to start making some Christmas Cards and then around 3:30 we will head over to a local nursing home to visit with the elderly and spread some holiday cheer. Should be done around 5.
December 5th: No Mocha Monday as I have an appointment.
December 12th: Mocha Monday. Meet at the Nokomis Caribou Coffee at 5:30 be done around 6:30.
December 19th: Mocha Monday. Nokomis Caribou. 5:30 to 6:30
December 26th: No Mocha Monday because it is the day after Christmas (which is the best day EVER!)
JR. High 6th-8th Graders.
You voted and you got it! We are going to the WaterPark of America! Whoo hooo! I have never been there so I am excited to go and I hope you are too! However, there is a catch you have have have to LET SAM KNOW BY THE 12th if you are going so she can arrange transportation for everyone. Bring $30, some snacks for the road, and a sack lunch in case you get hungry at the park. We will be stopping at some fast food place as well, but the $30 should cover it (doesn’t hurt to bring a little more just in case). You can bring 1 friend (maybe 2 if you check with Sam). SO mark you calendar:
December 17th: WaterPark of America. Leave Calvary at 9. Should be back around 5. Bring your swimsuit and towel. Don’t forget your money!
As always email me sam@calvaryalex.org or samc@luthercrest.org with questions. Or Call/Text 320-808-9497. Information is on the Calvary Youth Site as well!
