Date:11/18/18

Series: The Almost Christian Things We Say

Speaker: Pastor Nathan Thompson

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties.  For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

Psalm 23:4

“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me.”

Psalm 38:4,8

“My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to carry…I am exhausted and completely crushed. My groans come from an anguished heart.

Jonah 2:2,7

“In my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me…When my life was ebbing away, I remembered you, Lord, and my prayers rose to you.”

Mark 14:34

(Jesus said) “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death.”
